About this title
Fifteen printable one-page templates for the formal documents of a project, in the order a project needs them, from the brief and charter to the closure report.
Who it's for
Project managers, sponsors and anyone running a project, small or large. A small project, with a few people over a few months, can run on six of the templates; a larger project, with suppliers, several teams or a project board, uses all 15.
What you'll learn
- Propose a project on one page, then authorise it with a signed one-page charter covering objectives, scope, tolerances and governance
- Prioritise requirements with MoSCoW, devised by Dai Clegg and widely used through DSDM, with one acceptance criterion for each
- Plan up to 16 weeks of work in a Gantt chart with owners, durations, dependencies and milestones
- Compare each person’s planned load with the days they really have, and track the budget with commitments, forecasts and contingency
- Keep a risk register with each risk written as cause, event and effect, scored for probability and impact and given an owner
- Run the project with an issue log, dependency tracker, decision log, meeting notes and a one-page status report
- Agree acceptance criteria before the work is finished and close the project formally with results, lessons and sign-off
